Our commitment

Accessibility is treated as part of the build, not an afterthought. Where we find a barrier, we fix it or explain what we are doing about it.

Standard we work to

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA as our design and engineering baseline.

This is a statement of the standard we work to. It is not a claim that the site has passed a formal external audit or conformance assessment — no such audit has been carried out.

What we have done

  • semantic headings and landmark regions on every page;
  • a single main landmark and a skip link to page content;
  • full keyboard operation of navigation, forms, dialogs and menus;
  • a strong, visible focus indicator on every interactive control;
  • form fields with programmatic labels, and validation messages tied to their field;
  • accessible names on icon-only controls;
  • meaningful images given alternative text and decorative images hidden from screen readers;
  • text and interface colours chosen for contrast on our dark palette;
  • animation and smooth scrolling reduced when your system requests reduced motion;
  • dialogs that trap focus only while open and close on Escape.

Known limitations

  • The project configurator is a long multi-step form. It is keyboard operable, but completing it takes time and concentration; you can email us instead and we will take the same details however suits you.
  • The payment step is provided by our payment processor and rendered inside their interface, so its accessibility is partly outside our control.
  • Content supplied by third parties may not always meet the same standard.

How this was assessed

This statement is based on our own internal review of the site's markup, keyboard operation and visual design.

External audit status: [TO CONFIRM — whether an independent accessibility audit has been commissioned, by whom and when].

Reporting a barrier

If something on this site is difficult or impossible to use, tell us and we will respond. Email hello@converant.co.uk or use the contact form. Please include the page address and what happened. Target response time: [TO CONFIRM — accessibility response-time commitment].

Websites we build for clients

We apply the same WCAG 2.2 AA baseline to client projects. Where a client requires a formal conformance assessment, that is arranged as a separate, specified piece of work.
